Why have we changed platforms?

At FastSMS, we pride ourselves on listening to you, our customers. We’re continually improving our services in response to your feedback and industry changes. Our SMS services help you to win business, support customers and automate processes. Our SMS experts have been busy collaborating on new features, so you can have access to the best SMS services. However, we felt that our new services needed a new look and platform to match. 

We’re excited to announce that we’re joining our sister company TextAnywhere to bring you the very best SMS services on the market.

When is the look and platform changing?

We will be upgrading customers to the new TextAnywhere platform in groups starting in mid-September 2021. You will receive an email to let you know when this will be happening nearer the time. Don’t worry, upgrading is quick and easy so you won’t have any down time. Right now, you don’t need to do anything.

What are the new features?

You’ll have access to lot’s of great features once you’ve been updated to the new TextAnywhere platform. Here are just a few of the new features: 

 

  • Landing Pages – Accelerate conversions with bespoke, mobile optimised web pages. 

 

  • User Management – You’ll be able to create multiple users and assign roles under one account. Each role has a different level of permissions. 

 

  • Personalised Fields – In our new platform you’ll be able to use personalised custom fields for all messages.

 

  • Longer Messages – You’ll be able to send messages of up to 1000 characters rather than 456.

 

  • SMS Link Analytics – On our new platform you’ll be able to analyse how your recipients engage with links. 

 

Keep your eyes peeled on your email inbox, we’ll be sending you more information about these new features over the next few weeks.

Will my SMS credits expire?

Yes, however we’ve ensured that any credits you have on the day of migration will be valid for 12 months. This means that in some cases your credits will have a longer expiry period.

How will the Fast SMS brand and platform change?

Don’t worry, the platform changes aren’t big. We have worked hard to make sure that it’s still easy to use and intuitive. We still encompass everything you love about FastSMS.

Will my plugin continue to work and be supported?

Plugins using our API will continue to work. However, if you use plugins in a different way please contact us to discuss on  +44 (0) 800 954 5305 or email us at  helpdesk@fastsms.co.uk. 

Will I be able to login using the same credentials?

Once migrated you will automatically be redirected to the new platform. To login, you will need to input your username and current platform password. Please note, customers will be sent an email reminder with their current username. 

Will my account number change?

We’ve decided to standardise how we store our data, this means you will be issued with a new account number. We’ll be in contact about your new account number soon. This will not impact how you use the platform. 

Will my Terms and Conditions remain the same?

There are some minor amendments to the Terms and Conditions when you are upgraded to TextAnywhere. These can be found here.

Will my SMS pricing remain the same?

Yes, all current UK SMS pricing will remain the same. International sending will also be significantly cheaper.  

On the old platform you purchased credits in packs at tiered prices. 

The new TextAnywhere  platform will still have tiered pricing but you have to purchase using currency. You will get the appropriate number of credits depending on how much you top-up by and country of destination.

Will the subscription fees for VMN’s and Shortcodes change?

Yes, there will be some small changes to the price you pay for subscriptions. For most customers this means a reduction in VMN charges. We’ll be contacting you separately about this. 

What currency will my invoices be billed in?

On the new platform all purchases and invoices will be in GBP. Any customers wanting to pay in USD or EURO can do so, but will be charged the going exchange rate through their bank.

For a post-pay customer, will there be any changes to my invoices?

The invoices will remain the same; they will just have the new TextAnywhere branding. 

If you are a Postpay customer you may receive two invoices on the month you are upgraded. One invoice from your original platform and one from the new platform. It’s nothing to worry about, it will simply separate into two time periods. 

If I currently send messages to destinations outside the UK, how do I purchase my SMS credits?

If you already have the capability to send outside the UK you will still be able to do this on the new TextAnywhere platform. You will have a unique “custom pack” that will be maintained at the prices you pay currently for international SMS. Can I purchase a Virtual Mobile Number (VMN) on my own?

Yes, you can do this in the shop. Click the “Subscriptions” tab and choose the VMN you are interested in from the list.

Do I need to do anything?

No, you don’t have to do anything. We’ll be in contact with you over the next few months with more upgrade details. Please keep an eye on your email inbox.
